The Capital City Schutzhund club was founded in 2000.
Our founding members have more than 25 years experience in the sport, competing at local, national and international events.
We have held positions on the board of GSSCC at regional and national levels.
We have chaired many very successfull trials including regional and national events.
Our club is a proud member of the German Shepherd Schutzhund club of Canada.
Dedicated to the sport of Schutzhund and the German Shepherd dog, we beleive that the sport MUST remain a test for the
betterment of the GSD.
Although our club is a German Shepherd Dog club we do encourage and trian all breeds for the sport and we have titled many different breeds in our club.
Our club members can benefit from the help and coaching of many experienced handlers. We are here to help each other acheive our goals.
Team work can be summed up in five words. " We beleive in each other"
We take our training very seriously and members are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible to ensure their success.
Members are expected to be dedicated and work hard not only with their
own dogs but to be there for the other members and their dogs.
Many hours are volunteered by members to clean, build, cook, and help run the club and events to high standards.
It takes all members to work hard and make a strong club.
Work hard and play hard. Along with the hard work comes our social events. Hikes with our dogs, trips planned together as a team and
parties. After a hard day of training members enjoy a bbq, a few beer and discussions on our training. Most of our dogs are our family pets
and friends as well as our competition dogs.
Training with clear leadership and compassion builds a strong bond between dog and handler that can be seen in the work. A good team is amazing to watch.
